We’ll meet at 225 W Broadway, across from the Balboa Theater, to begin our guided tour of San Diego. Are you ready to explore the historic downtown area of this coastal destination?
To kick off this tour, we’ll head into the iconic Gaslamp Quarter, where the legacy of Spanish explorers and echoes of the Battle of San Pascual still resonate through its cobblestone streets.
We’ll stroll to Horton Plaza Park, where we’ll see how San Diego has evolved over the centuries to become the vibrant metropolis it is today. We’ll tell you about San Diego’s founders as we explore its most notable historic landmarks, such as the 1910 Broadway Fountain, the iconic Luminaries sculptures, and the amphitheater.
Next, we’ll head to the Santa Fe Station, a place that will catch your eye with its colonial-style architecture. After learning all about the role of the railroad in San Diego and its connection to the rest of the country, we’ll head to the USS Midway Museum, a historic U.S. Navy aircraft carrier that boasts being one of the most visited floating military museums in the world.
We’ll admire this massive ship docked at Navy Pier in San Diego Bay while continuing to discover the most fascinating anecdotes from San Diego’s cultural and military history.
After a total of two hours of activities, we’ll say our goodbyes at this final stop. See you next time!
